Is it necessary to follow rules word by word...

I dont think so, rules are made to do any thing in a proper manner, but sometimes it is not necessary to follow rules word by word or line by line... If we can help someone for the sake of career or otherwise in an appropriate manner with just molding the rules to some extent without breaking it... it is good and should be appreciated.....
